Philippa Gregory added to Arts & Letters live

The Dallas Museum of Art just added "an intimate fiction-into-film event" with Philippa Gregory, author of "The Other Boleyn Girl," to its 2008 Arts and Letters Live calendar.

Ms. Gregory will speak at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at the musem. Ticketholders will receive passes to a Feb. 21 preview screening of "The Other Boleyn Girl," the film version of her novel.

Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for members, seniors and educators, and $20 for students. Call 214-922-1818 for tickets or visit www.DallasMuseumofArt.org/ALL.

Ancient erotic poetry at the Crow

This sounds like a fascinating way to begin Valentine's Week:

Wordspace is presenting "Love & Renunciation," an evening with poet Andrew Schelling,
6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Crow Collection of Asian Art, 2010 Flora St.

Wordspace says: "An award-winning poet, Andrew Schelling is an amateur naturalist, mountaineer, and translator of India's classical poetry who lives in Boulder, Colorado, along the front range of the Southern Rocky Mountains. He will read a selection of erotic poems from ancient India."

The event is free for JADE members / $15 for nonmembers. (JADE (Junior Associates Discover the East) is an alliance of individuals in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who share an interest in Asian art and culture.)

Holocaust literature at the Writer's Garret

Rick Halperin of Southern Methodist University and Kathy Chapman, a literature specialist associated with the Holocaust Memorial Center, will discuss "Even Today: Influence of the Holocaust on Literature," 1 p.m. Sunday at Paperbacks Plus, 6115 La Vista Dr.

Attendees to this Writer's Garret event can purchase half-price tickets to Louis Begley's reading at the Writers Studio Feb. 19th.
