On a day that began with a debate about teaching the classics, I feel I should note this title, which just came over the transom: "HALO: Contact Harvest," by Joseph Staten. On 10 CDs. So this is what America is creating now: Audio versions of space operas derived from video games. No offense to Mr. Staten. It might be a great book. It's even "read by Jen Taylor, the voice of Cortana in the Halo video games, and actor Holter Graham," for what that's worth. Still, I feel a need to go home and pull the covers over my head. |
