We rarely delve into the business side of things here at Texas Pages, but I'm calling attention to this column by Sara Nelson of Publishers Weekly for a couple of reasons: 1) She takes a look at the chaos in the book business these days -- something that newspapers and a whole lot of other industries can relate to -- and sees reason to hope. We can all use some of that. 2) She'll be speaking at the Writers League of Texas in Austin this weekend, which is where I'll be. If you're a blog reader and attending the panel, be sure to say hi. And if you're not there, check back later. I hope to come back with interesting reports. |
