I like the way she chooses to compare artists from different vernaculars. Comparing Dave Chappelle and Kara Walker makes sense, since both have faced grave misinterpretation of their work. Americans aren't always very good at picking up subtlety and irony (I find that true for myself as well!) which creates a big problem when people are being both subtle and ironic in their criticisms of racism.
