The movie of "Edgar Sawtelle:" readiness is all

David Wroblewski's The Story of Edgar Sawtelle was a hit this summer, and assuming somebody can get busy creating a breed of superloyal dogs who speak sign language, it would seem to be a natural for the screen.

But don't warm up the popcorn popper just yet, says Publishers Weekly says. The author reportedly has asked would-be producers to pitch their film ideas to him in person so he can choose who's most deserving of the film rights. Which could slow things down.

How wonderful that an author who based his novel on Hamlet needs some extra time to act on a big decision.
